Why Choose Family Practice
Family Practice Clinic provides for complete medical care with compassion as we treat all our patients as part of our family. Our staff is well versed in taking care of the patient’s needs and will do our best to make your experience with us as enjoyable as possible.
Family Practice Clinic has been helping patients in the area from Webster to Galveston and encompassing the La Marque, Texas City, Hitchcock, Santa Fe, Dickinson, League City and Friendswood for several years. Although we are a relatively new clinic, Dr. Gulde has been treating patients in this area for 24 years. As a Hospitalist, she has seen patients at Mainland Medical Center, Clear Lake Medical Center, Bay Area Regional Medical Center and several of the Long Term Acute Care hospitals and rehab centers. Dr. Gulde decided to move from Hospitalist to Clinician and opened Family Practice. Originally in Webster, Dr. Gulde took over Dr. Warren Longmire’s clinic in Hitchcock and moved to his clinic location. In 2020, the clinic was moved to the Gulfway Plaza in La Marque. In 2021, we will be moving to a brand new clinic and new location in the La Marque Crossing Center.
Meet our Team
Dorothy Merritt, MD
Dororthy Merritt MD has been in Galveston County since 1987. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. She was a principal investigator for a National Institutes for Health (NIH) study on EDTA Chelation and has over 25 years of experience administering EDTA infusions. She is the national instructor for ACAM’s chelation certification course and teaches chelation for several other national organizations, too. During the pandemic she discovered how much she liked telemedicine because it allowed her to see patients in their work or home location and on the same day if necessary. She sees patients in the office for a week every 3-4 months but maintains a concierge telemedicine service that is available 24/7. For patients who need to be examined further, on site appointments are available at Family Practice by Candace Nichols, NP who has a gift with complicated Internal Medicine patients.
